Will Smith takes 'Seven Pounds'

After Big Will got some well deserved attention for ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ (leading to his second Oscar nomination) it seemed like the nicest guy in Hollywood (with the biggest tabs to match) was making it clear that he was slowly stepping away from the likes of ‘Bad Boys’ ‘Hitch’ and dare I say it, the long forgotten turd that was ‘Wild Wild West’ *shivers*.

Now news has arrived that Smith will be reuniting with the folks behind ‘Happyness’ for his upcoming film, ‘Seven Pounds’.

Directed by Gabriele Muccino (who also directed ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’) it tells the story of one man who falls in love at the oddest occasion – his attempted suicide.

Well that just sounds peachy, hopefully Mr. Smith will hold himself from pushing out any cheeky one liners when it comes to this sort of story.

Filming will begin in February, with an expected release date of 2008, after the release of Smith’s eagerly anticipated apocalyptic horror flick, ‘I Am Legend’.
